Call for Poster Presentation Abstracts

The National Hispanic and Latino ATTC is accepting poster abstracts for the Poster Presentation Session at its Conference to be held October 8th-9th, 2014 in Austin, Texas. 


The Poster Presentation Session will showcase an array of projects related to behavioral health issues in Hispanic and Latino populations. We encourage researchers and practitioners from diverse organizations to submit abstracts for poster presentations.

Start date: Saturday, March 1st, 2014

Close date: August 30th, 2014

General Guidelines

  1. Abstract title must be limited to 30 words (after approval you will need to submit the exact title of poster presentation for program purpose).

  2. The body of the abstracts should contain a maximum of 350 words and must be submitted in English. (Structure: it must contain the following identified sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. No chart and graphics should be included as part of the abstract).

  3. Abstracts should be original, new work with up-to-date data.

  4. Do not include trade or brand names in your abstract.

  5. Abstracts will not be edited or proof-read before printing. The first author is responsible for his/her abstract.

  6. All confirmed abstracts may be published on the ATTC webpage and potentially in the ATTC conference proceeding or manuscript.

  7. One of the authors must present the work. Please make sure all authors are entered in the initial submission.

  8. The presenter who cannot make a preregistration due to some unavoidable reasons must inform conference organizers two weeks in advance.

  3. Complete all fields in the Abstract Submission Form that you just saved.

  4. Once all fields are completed, re-save the form and submit it as an attachment to the following email address:

Review Process

  1. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of peers based on originality, perceived interest and need, quality of submission, objectives and references. An effort to balance the conference program will also be a consideration in the selection process.  

  2. Individuals may not send more than two submissions to the Scientific Program Committee for evaluation.

Abstract Selection Notification 

  1. All presenting authors will be notified via email of abstract status by August 2014. Please, make sure your email address is correct and up-to-date.

  2. If your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenter MUST register for the Conference by clicking HEREYou will receive a discount coupon with the email of acceptance and you will only pay a one day registration fee ($75.00) for both days.  Travel arrangements, ground transportation, lodging, per diem or any other incurred costs will not be reimbursed or paid.
